Tracing our origin back to 1941, the Glaucoma Center of San Francisco has one of the largest number of glaucoma specialists in one location on the West Coast. We are proud of the team of Doctors we've assembled.
Sophia Hsiao, OD joined the Glaucoma Center of San Francisco in 2015 as the clinic optometrist. Dr. Hsiao earned her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley. She then continued her education at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, earning her Doctorate of Optometry degree. She is Board certified in Optometry. During her clinical training, Dr. Hsiao did externships through the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, AZ, Castle Family Health Center in Atwater, CA, and the Palo Alto VA Health Care System in Livermore, CA. Upon graduation, Dr. Hsiao practiced for several years in private practice optometry before joining the Glaucoma Center of San Francisco.
Dr. Hsiao is also the Research Coordinator of the Glaucoma Research and Education Group. In addition to English, Dr. Hsiao speaks Mandarin Chinese and some Taiwanese.
